Camros Capital, L.L.C., is a private investment and venture capital firm and founded by Parviz Tayebati with a mission to identify innovative technologies at an early stage and to assist in taking these technologies into the market place.
Dr. Parviz Tayebati is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Before founding Camros Capital in March 2007 he was chairman and CEO of AZNA Corporation which he co-founded in June 2002 which he sold to Finisar Corporation. Until March 2002, he was VP of business development for the component division at Nortel Networks Optical Components. During the same period, he was President of CoreTek, Inc, a company he founded and ran as CEO until it was acquired by Nortel Networks in March 2000 for $1.43B. Under his leadership, CoreTek developed market leading tunable photonic solutions for long haul and metropolitan dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system. Prior to founding CoreTek in 1993 Parviz was a Program Manager of optical computing technologies at Foster-Miller, Inc. now a subsidiary of QinetiQ. Parviz has fifty five patents and patents pending in the area of fiber optic communications devices and subsystems and has more than 70 published scientific papers and conference or invited presentations.
Parviz received a B.Sc. degree with first class honors from the University of Birmingham, England, in 1982, followed by a Masters degree from the University of Cambridge (UK) in theoretical physics, and a Ph.D. in Quantum Electronics from the University of Southern California in 1989.
Parviz serves on the Board of Counselors at the University of Southern California, University of Mass. Lowell Nanotechnology Center and the Board of Trustees of Children’s Hospital in Boston. He also serves on board of directors of Xradia Corporation, Stocker Yale Inc.
